James Nghiem

Known for his rhythmic delivery, comedic experimentation, and odd perspective, allowing him to approach topics from multiple angles and engage audiences in unexpected ways.

James tackles both the everyday and the almost-never with sharp wit. Filled with non sequitur logic, the seemingly random events that shape his act blur the line between silly and profound. His comedy is bizarre, entertaining, lighthearted, and always fun.

He runs the digital comedy label Robot Saves City, has opened for national headlining acts, and has appeared on several comedy podcasts, including No Fun Intended, alongside guests such as Paul F. Tompkins, Maria Bamford, Doug Benson, Kyle Kinane, Todd Barry, and Marc Maron.

The Martin Duprass

This husband-and-wife duo, known for their offbeat characters and DIY comedy, expanded a quarantine-born sketch into a 37-minute satire about internet fame, awkwardness, and social media chaos. They recently premiered their newest short comedy film, Awkward Gawker, at the Oklahoma Film Exchange on October 18. The film features an ensemble of Oklahoma’s outsider comedy scene and eccentric storytelling.

This four-week painting series offers an immersive introduction to intuitive abstraction, guiding students through the process of creating one cohesive abstract painting shaped by presence, emotion, and embodied creativity. Open to all experience levels, the course centers on exploration and emotional translation rather than technical perfection. Each session begins with a brief grounding meditation to calm the nervous system and create a supportive, focused space for creative flow.

Week 1: Inspiration & Foundation

The opening class establishes the energetic and creative groundwork for the entire series. Students will begin with a grounding meditation to connect with the body and inner imagery, followed by reflective journaling to uncover a personal source of inspiration. The session will also explore color mixing and how color carries emotional and energetic resonance. Students will then begin their abstract painting, using intention and intuitive movement to lay the foundation for the work they will continue to develop throughout the series.

MEET YOUR TEACHER
Lindsey Martin-Prascher is a multidisciplinary artist and educator based in Norman, Oklahoma, whose creative journey weaves through teaching, community engagement, and a personal exploration of identity and inspiration.

In 2011, Lindsey founded the Scissortail School of Art in downtown Norman, a vibrant space offering art classes for children as young as two years old. Her approach emphasized hands-on creativity and upcycled materials, fostering a playful and inclusive environment. After selling the school in 2016, she shifted her focus to producing original artworks, delving deeper into her own artistic voice.

Her recent work includes a series of portraits featuring inspirational women, each highlighting the subject's hands to symbolize action and impact. She has also explored themes in hip-hop culture, with her paintings featured at music events in Oklahoma City.

Her art is available at Uncanny Art House & Green Buffalo in Norman and through her Instagram, @lindseymartinart, where she continues to share her evolving creative endeavors.
