Chase Spivey is the Creative Director at Uncanny Art House and an award-winning videographer who has produced video & photo content full-time since 2014. His work includes music videos screened at DeadCenter (Sisteria’s Pale in the Darkness) and the Los Angeles Film Festival (Jabee’s Hope). He co-founded and directed the Norman Film Festival from 2018 to 2021 and has earned Addy Awards for his work with local marketing agencies.

Tie-Dye Workshop with Tawny Baffoni
Learn the basics of tie-dye in this hands-on workshop with Tawny Baffoni. In this beginner-friendly class, participants will explore simple techniques and create a one-of-a-kind piece to take home. Bring your own shirt or fabric item to dye—some blank items will also be available. Open to all skill levels.
Space is limited to 12–15 participants for comfort and safety with dyes. Registration is $20 per person.

Tawny Baffoni has over 25 years of experience in fabric dyeing, beginning in childhood. She has created stage backdrops, quilts, and vibrant tie-dyed clothing. After moving from Colorado to Norman, Tawny has been active in the local art community and continues to share her passion for fabric arts with others.


Artist Talk with James Bond
We will be hosting a guided walkthrough and conversation with featured artist James M. Bond during the month of October.
This Q&A explores the visual language, process, and themes behind In the Company of Paintings. Gain insights into the show's immersive elements and the symbolism embedded in each piece.
Whether you are an artist, student, or enthusiast, this is a unique opportunity to hear directly from the creator and engage with the concepts behind the work.
Seating is limited and early arrival is encouraged. This event is followed by our Uncanny Art Hang where we make art together and enjoy the atmosphere of the exhibition.

Uncanny Art House is getting into the spirit of Halloween with a vintage screening of Nosferatu (1922), presented inside the immersive setting of In the Company of Paintings by James Bond.
This silent horror classic will be shown in the transformed gallery space, amplifying its eerie, cinematic tone and aligning perfectly with the themes of the exhibition.

Join us at Uncanny Art House for a special screening of the 2019 documentary Tattoo Uprising, directed by Alan Govenar. Spanning more than four decades of footage, the film traces the rich and radical history of tattooing from ancient traditions to modern rebellion and artistic expression.
Featuring tattoo legends like Ed Hardy and Stoney St. Clair, with a surprise cameo by Werner Herzog, the film explores the evolving perception of tattooing as both personal statement and fine art.

Glass Bead Suncatcher Workshop with Lindsey Martin-Prascher

Lindsey Martin-Prascher is a multidisciplinary artist and educator based in Norman, Oklahoma, whose creative journey weaves through teaching, community engagement, and a personal exploration of identity and inspiration.
In 2011, Lindsey founded the Scissortail School of Art in downtown Norman, a vibrant space offering art classes for children as young as two years old. Her approach emphasized hands-on creativity and upcycled materials, fostering a playful and inclusive environment. After selling the school in 2016, she shifted her focus to producing original artworks, delving deeper into her own artistic voice.
Her recent work includes a series of portraits featuring inspirational women, each highlighting the subject's hands to symbolize action and impact. She has also explored themes in hip-hop culture, with her paintings featured at music events in Oklahoma City.
Her art is available at Uncanny Art House & Green Buffalo in Norman and through her Instagram, @lindseymartinart, where she continues to share her evolving creative endeavors.

Torn Paper Workshop with Ginna Dowling
The community is invited to participate in a free art workshop focused on creating a collaborative torn paper mural. This hands-on event welcomes individuals of all ages and skill levels to contribute to a large-scale artwork that reflects themes of healing, resilience, and community. All materials will be provided, and no prior art experience is necessary.
MEET YOUR TEACHER
Ginna Dowling is a contemporary printmaker and installation artist from Oklahoma City whose work blends visual storytelling with a deep artistic heritage. She holds an MFA from the University of Oklahoma and founded INK DROP PRESS as a creative studio and teaching space. Her latest project, The Language of Hope and Courage, empowers critically ill children through art, culminating in a large-scale installation at the Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma City.
