4th Friday Films: Tattoo Uprising

  • Uncanny Art house 106 East Main Street Norman, OK, 73069 United States (map)

Join us at Uncanny Art House for a special screening of the 2019 documentary Tattoo Uprising, directed by Alan Govenar. Spanning more than four decades of footage, the film traces the rich and radical history of tattooing from ancient traditions to modern rebellion and artistic expression.

Featuring tattoo legends like Ed Hardy and Stoney St. Clair, with a surprise cameo by Werner Herzog, the film explores the evolving perception of tattooing as both personal statement and fine art.

This screening coincides with our ongoing "Body of Work" exhibition, showcasing contemporary art from local tattoo artists. Come for the visuals, stay for the conversation.

Runtime: 1 hour, 15 minutes
