November Artwalk at Uncanny Art House

  • Uncanny Art House 106 East Main Street Norman, OK, 73069 United States (map)

Uncanny Art House presents "Auroras", a captivating new exhibit from member artist Jennifer Ball-Burwell inspired by the spectacular coronal mass ejections of 2024. This exhibition opens on 2nd Friday Art Walk in downtown Norman, Oklahoma on November 8, 2024 and will be available for viewing until December 1, 2024.

Through her use of acrylics, fluorescent paint, sculpture, lighting, and music, she explores the idea of auroras being visible all over the Earth, inviting viewers to envision and feel this extraordinary phenomenon. This vibrant body of work utilizes a striking combination of fluorescent colors and layered techniques that make it visually captivating even under normal lighting. However, the real magic unfolds when exposed to black light. The neon pinks, greens, and blues will come alive, radiating with a luminescent glow that transforms the atmosphere of the piece. Each piece is intended to appear almost three-dimensional under UV light.

The exhibition will also feature artwork from Norman High and Norman North students in the mini gallery.

We will also feature musical performances by Stephen Baker and Wess McMichael, setting the perfect atmosphere for an immersive art experience. Enjoy complimentary beverages and light snacks as you take in this new body of work art and live music.
