CLASS SCHEDULE

APRIL 2 & 3
6PM - 9PM

This adult workshop is split into two three hour sessions on April 2 and April 3 beginning at 6 PM each evening.

In this class, students will learn how to create monotype prints using acrylic paint and gel plates. Through step by step instruction, participants will pull prints from magazine images and their own photographs, along with demonstrations on printing with mixed media, found objects, and collage elements.

Over the two days, students will build a strong foundation in gel plate printing and gain the confidence to continue developing their printmaking practice. The workshop is designed for artists working across a range of mediums who are interested in expanding their process through print.

Each student will leave with multiple original prints, as well as their own gel plate and brayer to continue working beyond the class.

MEET YOUR TEACHER

VC Torneden is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, printmaking, and photography. Their formal training includes studies at the University of New Orleans and Memphis College of Art, complemented by professional experience in illustration, graphic design, and photojournalism.

Raised by a public school teacher, VC developed an early connection to education, working as a teaching assistant in their youth and later teaching ESL in the United States and abroad. While they do not typically pursue traditional art instruction, they are especially drawn to the exploratory and playful nature of teaching experimental processes such as gel plate printmaking.
