OPEN CALL: Muralists for Ink the Block Party
Be a Muralist for Ink the Block 2026 and receive a $500 honorarium

Ink the Block is seeking muralists to create live, large scale works during our festival on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in Downtown Norman's Walker Arts District.
This open call is free to apply and participate. Artists will need to bring their own supplies. Limited supplies will be provided by Uncanny Art House for use during the event.
We will be selecting four muralists. Each selected artist will receive a $500 award. Selected artists will be given a dedicated mural space on a 4x4 ft panel, featured in our event promotions, and given the opportunity to showcase their work to a large and diverse audience.
This is a public, family friendly, interactive art event. Muralists should be comfortable working in an open environment with potential public engagement throughout the day. A separate community paint area will be available to the public, distinct from the muralist section.
Selected artists will receive an acceptance email with more details on event setup and paint times. Uncanny Art House will organize painters for the event and will have staff available to assist and monitor stations as needed.

Other Details
Uncanny Art House will provide a primed ready to paint surface for artists with other limited supplies on hand
Artists should bring their own supplies and be prepared to stay for the duration of the event to complete their mural
Refreshments and a cooling area inside the Opolis or Oscillator Press will be available for breaks as needed
