After more than a year of running exhibitions, events, workshops, and a retail gallery, we’ve learned how much time, care, and resources it takes to operate a creative space of this size. Uncanny Art House is fully artist-run, managed by patrons and artists.
As we grow, it’s become important to balance the work we provide for artists with a structure that keeps the space sustainable. The new membership program allows us to do that. Memberships help cover the behind-the-scenes costs of running exhibitions, promoting artists, hosting workshops, and maintaining our gallery, while giving members meaningful benefits that include reduced commission rates, online representation, photography services, and access to exclusive events and discounts.
In short, memberships create a fair, transparent way to keep Uncanny thriving for the long term and to ensure everyone who contributes to our community can continue to grow with us.

Uncanny Art House was founded by working artists who wanted to build a space that operates with the same creative freedom and flexibility we value in our own work. We chose a for-profit model so we could remain artist-run, responsive, and self-sustaining, without the administrative restrictions or board structure that often come with nonprofit status.This approach allows us to pay artists directly, pursue experimental projects, and reinvest income from exhibitions, events, and creative services back into our local arts community. While memberships and art purchases aren’t tax-deductible, they go directly toward keeping the lights on, supporting artists, and continuing to grow a space built by artists, for artists.
