Works by Ty Johnson
June 13 - July 6
About the Exhibition
Uncanny Art House presents The Lost Artwork of Ty Johnson, opening June 13, 2025, during Norman’s 2nd Friday Art Walk. This memorial exhibition showcases never-before-seen pieces by the late artist, preserved and shared by his family. From vibrant drawings to collaborative community art, the show honors Johnson’s creative spirit and offers the public a rare chance to engage with his work.
about the Artist
Ty Johnson was an American artist whose bold drawings and vibrant imagery reflected both personal journeys and broader cultural themes. A Vietnam veteran who served two tours, Johnson disappeared from contact for nearly a decade before reemerging briefly with a postcard that read simply, “still alive.” He passed away unexpectedly soon after.
Much of Johnson’s work was preserved by family members, including his nephew Dylan Johnson, who has helped bring these pieces to light for the first time. Thought to have last practiced as a street artist in New Mexico, Arizona, and Seattle, Johnson’s art captures a raw, unfiltered creativity that remained largely unseen during his lifetime.
